CPSA Review

CREST Practitioner Security Analyst (CPSA)

  1. I took about 5 weeks to prepare for it, and I prepared for it while I was doing 3 weeks of winter school in Korea (so not intensely studying for it)
  2. Preparation was mainly doing and redoing practice questions. I feel I could have done better if I studied some theory, but I wasn't too sure what to focus on
    • I think OSCP knowledge is not sufficient
    • My main strategy was to recognise the pattern and common sense answer strategy
  3. Exam was similar in structure, quite different in content than the practice questions
    1. I took my exam on 20th January 2025
  4. I somehow managed to barely pass (They kinda but not really release the exam results)
  5. I mainly did it to claim my CREST CRT, and I did it as my OSCP was reaching 3 years old, so my CRT lasts for 3 more years afterwards.
    1. You have to pay a fair bit though. Might not be worth to some.
